Korean barbecue is hip and trendy now. It is a combo of fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Nothing feels overly complicated; in fact, each element serves its purpose. Galbi" translates to English as "ribs." The term has become overwhelmingly synonymous with the beef short rib cut. An alternative cut, known as the flanken cut, Koreans call it "LA Galbi," named after the city of its origin. It is thinly cut across the bone, so each strip has three or four little oblong pieces of bone along the top. Located on the 2nd level in the food court at the Paramus Park mall, I decided at K-BBQ Box, as a first-timer, to change up my usual lunch routine. The menu features Korean rice bowls, fried chicken, and street food favorites. I decided on the KBBQ LA Galbi Box. The box contained marinated short rib; fresh salad, egg souffle, japchae, and rice. The food was absolutely delicious, flavorful focusing on the balance of sweet and savory & perfectly cooked. The portion was generous for one person and the price reasonable. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. The entire experience exceeded my expectations.

As a Korean, this spot is a hidden gem. Food was fresh and delicious. Service was quick with kind workers. It’s too bad the mall itself is dying and slow, would do great in a mall with more traffic. Wishing this business all the best. Recommend the kalbi, spicy chicken, and dumplings.

I recently ate at KBBQ Box and was genuinely impressed. The food was absolutely delicious fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Every bite tasted authentic, and you can tell they put care into the quality of their ingredients. The meats were tender, the portions were generous, and the sauces brought everything together perfectly. What really surprised me was finding Korean BBQ this good in a mall food court. The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. If you’re looking for amazing Korean food with great flavor and excellent value, this is definitely a place you need to try. I’ll absolutely be coming back for more!

What an amazing find! Our first time in this mall and so happy to find KBBQ Box. To get food like this quick is impossible and the owner Jon is super sweet. Also great prices and perfect options of sides in the lunch boxes! Also great sauces!
